If you work full-time or part-time, you will have an opportunity to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible dependent care and medical expenses, and as a result, reduce taxable income. Group Life and AD&D Insurance – To provide peace of mind for you and your loved ones, we offer basic life and AD&D insurance at no cost to you. If you are a full-time employee, coverage will be based upon years of service. Additional coverage may be purchased through payroll deduction, as well as life insurance for spouses and children.

Your Financial Future – Plan for a fulfilling tomorrow through the Adventist Healthcare Retirement Plan. You may begin contributing a percentage of your compensation as soon as you start working with us. We provide a base contribution of 3% of your annual pay. We will also match the first 4% of pay that you contribute. Vesting is achieved after five years of with at least 1,000 hours of service. Per diem status does not count. You may also choose to participate in our 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity, the non-profit equivalent of a 401(k).

Paid Time Off – We recognize your need for time away from work for vacations, personal business or other events in your life. You will accrue paid leave hours after 90 days of employment. . We also provide 24 hours of funeral leave and five days for jury duty. Leaves of absence are available for certain qualifying situations.

Sick Leave Accrual – In addition to your Paid Leave bank, you also accrue time in a sick leave bank for longer illnesses. Fifty-six hours per year accrue into this bank for full time employees. The amount is pro-rated for part-time employees.

Holidays – WMMC recognizes six holidays during the year. If you are required to work these holidays, you will be paid at a rate of time and one half for regular hours worked on that date.

Protection at Work – We want to make sure you’re taken care of even as you take care of our patients. We offer:

  • Long-Term Disability Insurance – Full and part-time employees may purchase coverage through our voluntary plans.
  • Workers’ Compensation – Protection and assistance for work-related illness and injuries are provided for employees.

Insurance Discounts – We make available to you a number of voluntary insurance programs and pre-paid legal services at group pricing. Benefit eligibility for certain programs may vary, depending on your job classification and employment status. See the Summary Plan for complete details. Insurance options include:

Getting started

During your meeting with HR to complete your paperwork, you will receive a New Hire CD. This CD contains important materials and information needed to begin the benefit enrollment process, including a “Start Here” folder. If you are signing up for benefits, you must print, complete and submit the benefits paperwork from the CD within 30 days of new hire start date in order for your new benefits to become effective. If you do not submit your paperwork within 31 days of employment, you will not be allowed to access these benefits until the next Open Enrollment Period, which happens once per year.
